電台現場彈唱音源 - Macbook完成首次任務
「花火」這張專輯的歌如果要現場彈唱的話，有的適合用吉他，有的適合用鍵盤。然而上個通告又帶吉他又帶鍵盤，實在是很麻煩的事。因此，當宣傳同事告訴我要到「夜光家族」做電台現場彈唱的時候，我突然想到：為什麼不帶台筆電呢？
我的控制鍵盤是Novation Remote 61，本身沒有聲音，但也因此比較輕便。搭配一台小筆電的話，不但可以自由選擇鋼琴或電鋼琴、要不要襯弦樂、要不要左右分鍵或搭一軌loop，更方便的是可以用Real Guitar這個虛擬吉他音源，就不用帶一把真的木吉他了。

日前趁商家推出優惠方案時買了一台Macbook，把記憶體加到4G，內建硬碟也改成160G/7200轉。本身已經是2.2G雙核心的CPU，要跑軟體音源綽綽有餘。
這次的電台現場彈唱有四首歌，兩首鋼琴、一首木吉他、一首電鋼琴。Logic Pro 裡內建了一些堪用的音色，鋼琴和電鋼琴各load一軌，再開一軌Real Guitar，整個節目需要的音色就都有了。
在測試的過程中，我很驚訝地發現，「Mac用起來就是比PC順手」這種說法並非空穴來風，更不是一廂情願的幻覺。
舉個最基本的例子來說，一般的PC如果用內建的錄音介面來跑軟體音源，latency（延遲）都會很大，使用者不是要自己去找非官方的驅動程式改善，就是乾脆花錢買一個好一點的外接介面。然而這次在Macbook上使用Logic Pro的時候，讓我對「內建錄音介面」這個字眼完全改觀：延遲小、跑得順，彈奏起來每有任何會卡住的地方。音質方面，以小頭輸出（mini-phonejack）來說，要夠厚實是不可能的，但比起一般PC內建錄音介面輸出「不是太悶就是太刺耳」真的好得太多。
另外，Macbook使用起來讓人非常的安心。開著Logic Pro的時候，就算同時開了很多其他程式，彈奏時也不會有任何的雜聲爆音，更不用擔心它不知道什麼時候會突然當機。甚至把筆電從休眠狀態叫回來的時候，在極短的時間裡就可以完全恢復正常使用。
我最喜歡的是，在PC(Nuendo)使用USB外接鍵盤的時候，如果鍵盤沒有在程式啓動前接好，程式會「不知道」鍵盤後來有被接上，只好關掉程式重開。用Macbook(Logic Pro)的話，鍵盤隨接隨用，不用一直想著動作的順序。

當天的表演就很順利的結束了。新玩具成功地完成首次任務。
當然我不會誇張到說Macbook是無敵的，但以自己在筆電上工作的經驗，它真的可以讓「使用工具的人」比較不用擔心「工具什麼時候會出問題」。
其實關於Mac的好處，我正在慢慢地發現。等到整理出比較完整的心得之後再和大家分享。

最近消費太大。”I” 要 “瘋” 了才會去買”iphone”…。我想我應該還會跟我的 Nokia N95 8GB 相處個兩三年吧。
